Spent some time in one of my most favorite places this weekend. Oswego holds a dear place in my heart. I miss it when I am away. The food, the sites, the festivals. I know I don't get nostalgic about being away from home much but I have so many good memories from that place. Walking around at night just feels like home. That being said, in the winter, I will not have those same sentiments. I remember the Harborfest of my youth and sitting in front of the Fort pretending to die every time there was a really loud firework and begging our parents to let us go to the "wooden park" afterward to play in the dark. During my college years I still tried to catch the fireworks every year but it was a bit different. I remember riding out one soaking thunderstorm at Paula's doing a Liquor tasting.... All great memories. There are a few details I don't remember from those college days but I am pretty sure they are all good. As an adult, I am glad I am able to get home some years to catch the fireworks and share it with my children.
Last night's fireworks did not disappoint. Fireworks by Grucci always puts on the best shows. Nowhere in NY will you find a display like theirs. Just amazing. I don't think the photos do it justice. It was just a great show set to fun music. I was super impressed with the USA firework. Can't wait to do it all again.
